The chairman welcomed everyone, especially any visitors and our demonstrator, Frances McNaughton, from Lamberhurst, doing tiny shoes. The Nosh and Knowledge evening was very successful and we raised £200 for this year’s charity, Kent Air Ambulance. We do thank everyone connected with this evening, including those who donated prizes. those who helped and of course, those who attended. The demonstrator next month, on Tuesday, May 20 will be Jacqui Kelly, from London, who will be showing us techniques for summer cookies. The project for the evening will be a Father’s Day cake.

Members were asked to vote for the charity which the club will support for the next two years, and the result was Pilgrims Hospice, Canterbury. The project for this evening was an Easter themed plague, judged by Frances, and the winner for the experienced category was June Drinkwater and for the under two years Tracey Aldous. It was then announced that one of our members, from Thanet, had died suddenly, and our thoughts were with her family and her close friend, Mary.

Visitors are always welcome to our evenings, which are held on the third Tuesday in every month, from 7.30pm to 9.15pm, with the exception of December. These meetings are held at 15a Castle Road, Whitstable, and further details can be obtained from Beryl.
