Emergency services rescue person from underneath Herne Bay Pier

HERNE Bay Coastguard and Kent Police rescued a person under the influence of alcohol underneath Herne Bay Pier last night (Sunday).Emergency services were called at 11.18pm to reports of shouts for help coming from underneath the pier. On arrival, it was low water so crews were able to investigate and an intoxicated person was found by the police.

The cruiser Lady Amour ran out of fuel two miles off Herne Bay and was towed to shore by the Whitstable lifeboat.
