Plan for homes

BROOMFIELD: Eight houses could be built on land next to the Huntsman and Horn pub. Developers have applied for planning permission for the scheme on a field in Margate Road. The houses would have garages and would be a mixture of three and four bedrooms. Full details can be seen at the council offices in William Street or at www.canterbury.gov.uk

Market move

HERNE BAY: Council officials have lodged a planning application to move the town’s market to Mortimer Street and William Street. Town centre managers have been working with traders and stallholders on the plan to move it from the Kings Road car park, which is to be developed into an Aldi store. As part of the plan, a storage unit would also be placed in Market Street car park.
