A classic motor show drew 15,000 visitors to Herne Bay seafront on Sunday. Organised by Classic Music & Motors and the Herne Bay Town Partners, it featured classic vehicles and live entertainment. Herne Bay town centre manager Chris West said:
“It was really a fantastic success with thousands of visitors and nice weather. We have done the show for the last eight years, but this is the first time it was set on the seafront.”
The event aims to promote Herne Bay and boost the local economy, and this year attracted 350 exhibitors. Entertainment included local bands such as the Electric Beatles, 80s XYZ, Mel Harris, the Crooners and the Steamboat Jazz band. Food and retro markets were also included in the show, alongside entertainers and rides for children. The show also celebrated the 90th anniversary of the first Herne Bay motor speed trials, which first took place on June 21, 1924.
