FRIENDS OF KINGSMEAD FIELD

THE colours and aromas of Indian spices brought an special touch to St Stephen’s Church Hall on the last Saturday of January. Chef Paul Babra hosted an Indian vegetarian cooking master class to raise funds for the Friends of Kingsmead Field group. More than 25 people watched a demonstration by Paul and enjoyed a lunch of channa masala, pilao rice and pineapple raita afterwards. Sue Langdown, founding member of the Friends, said:

“The passion and enthusiasm with which Paul shared his love of spices and demonstrated his culinary talents was wonderful. It was a really enjoyable event.”

The official launch of the Friends will be on Monday, March 9, at 7.3Opm in St Stephen’s Church Han. The new group will take over from the Save Kingsmead Field campaign and work with the council to manage and enhance the field for the benefit of the broader community.
