Driver rescued after collision in Charles Street

The driver was treated by paramedics at the scene

A driver has been rescued from his vehicle following collision with building in Herne Bay today.

Kent Fire and Rescue were called to Charles Street in Herne Bay at 2:28pm today after a man, believed to be in his sixties, was trapped in his vehicle following a collision with a building.

No cutting equipment was used but firefighters assisted paramedics with removing the casualty and making the scene safe.

Local authority building inspectors were notified due to concerns over structural condition of the building involved in the collision.
