WHITSTABLE HISTORICAL SOCIETY

AT THE society’s April meeting, the last lecture of the winter season brought to a close an exceptional series of eight lectures, including ‘History of Whitstable’s Black Windmill’, ‘Doomsday Book: Kent and Norman Conquest’, ‘The Christmas Truce 1914’ and ‘Jane Austen — her Kentish World. Members have also been able to visit Tiptree and Beth Chatto’s garden; The National Stud and Audley End and the Imperial War Museum and Geffrye Museum.
