Tributes are paid to ‘popular and inspiring’ Carole

TRIBUTE: Carole Parr with husband Terry

THE family and friends of a Herne Bay woman who died last month have paid tribute to a “popular and inspiring personality”. Carole Parr, passed away on Friday, October 10 after a long illness. Her husband of 33 years, Terry said:

“Carole was a devoted mother to her five children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She really enjoyed seeing the youngest open their presents at Christmas time. Carole and I moved to Herne Bay five years ago and were instantly revolved in the
Regatta before we could even unpack. She also enjoyed visiting clubs and attending st’s a Knockout games in aid of children and adults with learning disabilities in the south east.”

Members of Whitstable and Herne Bay Lions Club added their tribute too as she had been a member of the Lions’ organisations for 23 years. President Eddy Warn said:

“Carole has been a great worker and source of inspiration both as a Lioness President in Paddock Wood, and more recently as a Lion in Whitstable and Herne Bay. She will be sadly missed by our club members and her many friends in the multiple district. Despite her illness Carole always made a great effort to attend our social and fundraising events”

The Whitstable and Herne Bay Lions Club have sent their condolences to Terry a past Club President, and members of their family
Carole’s funeral was attended by many Lions who had travelled from various locations throughout the south east. Each wore red – her favourite colour.
