An Indian takeaway in Herne Bay has been shortlisted for the British Curry Awards. Masala Bay in the High Street has been nominated for the Best Takeaway award at the annual event, which this year will be held at Battersea Evolution in London on December 1. The nomination process invited members of the public input forward their favourite Indian restaurant and received more than 200,000 responses across the UK by post, app and online. Masala Bay is one of the 2,641 restaurants nominated from 10,000 in the country. Head chef Mohammad Rahman, 22, said:

“The team and I feel really happy and proud that lots of our customers have taken the time to nominate us. This is the second year that we will be attending the event now and follows our win as the best Indian takeaway in the south east.”
