Children at Reculver Primary School have dedicated a week to celebrating World Book Day in style.
The primary school celebrated the events 17th anniversary by dressing up as characters from Roald Dahl’s award winning book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Year 2 teacher Louise Askham said:
The week culminated in a dressing up day where the Head teacher was Mr Willy Wonka with all of his Teachers and TA’s dressing up as Oompa Loompas.
Students at the school were given the opportunity to invent their own tantalisingly tasty sweets and milkshakes, while writing instructions for imaginative machine inventions. Mrs Askham said:
The children toured the ‘factory’ to see what everybody in the school had been learning, moving from room to room with sound effects, lighting and even candy floss machines! The day was a great success and the children had lots of fun!
