Perverse to close crossing after death

With regard to the Glebe Way level crossing, Whitstable. THE open spaces society strongly objects to the possible closure of this crossing after the tragic death of a teenager recently! Some people called for its immediate closure which is an overreaction to one accident! It would be perverse to close a very busy popular crossing because a small number of people do not apply common-sense and obey the rules. The crossing is not unsafe! Some drivers go through red traffic lights so do we abolish traffic lights? We have informed Network Rail that we will oppose any railway crossing closure order!
