A rare opportunity has arisen to rent out business space which offers one of the best views of the beach in Whitstable and could leave you flushed with happiness.
The unusual office space has been built into the upper floor of the public toilet block in Beach Walk but offers something which should not be poo-pooed for it is a loo with a sea view.
For those stuck staring at the same four walls this unique building owned by Canterbury City Council could provide you with a convenient new location. The first floor has been used as a studio since 2002, but is now empty.
It is being refurbished – including unblocking the windows – and the work is expected to be complete soon. It comes with its own kitchen area and private parking space. The council’s advert states:
The property occupies an elevated position enjoying uninterrupted sea views across the Thames estuary and within a few minutes’ walk from Whitstable Castle and Whitstable Harbour. The site is positioned along the Saxon Shoreway, popular all year round with visitors, walkers and cyclists.
It has not been used as an office before, although a council spokesman said planning applications for change of use will be considered. The spokesman added: “There’s been quite a lot of interest.” The asking price to rent the 69sq metre of space is £6,000 per year.
