National Voter Registration Day

Today (Thursday 5th Feb) is National Voter Registration Day and I am writing to urge residents in the Canterbury district to make sure they are registered to vote. On Thursday, May 7, there will be three elections in the district – general, city council and parish council. If people are not on the electoral register, they will not be able to vote. Registering is easy – simply go to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

It only takes a few minutes. We are writing to every household in the district listing who at that property is eligible to vote. If the letter contains wrong or missing information, people should contact the council’s electoral services team to add or correct the details for their household. You can do this by e-mailing electoral.services@canterbury.gov.uk or calling 01227 862007. If you have any queries about electoral registration, please get in touch so that we can help you. These are important elections. Don’t miss out on the right to vote.
