A single mum from Herne Bay has been banned from driving for 46 months after being caught drink-driving for the second time. Sally Pepper, 37, of Greenhill Road, was stopped in the High Street in her VW Golf by police on March 11 and found to be more than double the legal limit. It was the second time she had been caught by police, after facing similar charges in May 2010. On that occasion she claimed she had jumped behind the wheel while drunk so she and a pregnant friend could escape a 26-man brawl at Talk nightclub. She was caught in Richmond Street moments after leaving the nightclub in her Renault Clio, and Canterbury Magistrates banned her from driving for a year and imposed a fine of £50. For her latest offence, she appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, April 10, and pleaded guilty to the charges. Magistrates also fined her £409.
