A lost dog has been reunited with her owners after two days running around Herne Bay.
Lucy the beagle escaped from her garden in Gordon Road on Sunday, and managed to evade capture for more than 48 hours. She was spotted all over the town, from Pier Avenue to Canterbury Road, as well as in Greenhill and Herne.
Despite several attempts to catch her she was too fast, and too frightened to come close. Her desperate owners spent hours searching and brought in a specialist tracker dog to follow her trials in the hope of bringing her home.
But it was a sighting by a couple at Ridgeway Farm in Herne that finally led to her safe return. Owner Alice Smith said:
We are so relieved and delighted to have her back and want to say a big thank you to everyone who shared our posts or helped search for her. Her paws are a little cut but other than that she is fine, although she is going to be checked by the vet. She’s very pleased to be home and was going crazy to see my son. It’s fantastic that she is back and we are very grateful to the people who saw her and called us.
