Driving ban

HERNE BAY: Luke Hanley, of Greenhill Road, has been banned from the road for 18 months and fined by magistrates in Canterbury for drink-driving. Hanley, who appeared in the dock on January 6, pleaded guilty to drink-driving following an incident on the A299 Thanet Way at Chestfield on December 1. The 23-year-old drove a Peugeot 206 and when stopped by police gave a breath test of 82 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millllitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. Magistrates disqualified Hanley from driving for 18 months and fined him £250. He must also pay £85 costs and a £25 victim surcharge.
