Man accused of stealing purse

HERNE BAY: Police investigating the theft of a purse in Sea Street, on March 22 have arrested a man. The purse had been dropped by a 46-year-old woman on Saturday morning. Police arrested Graham Michael Kent, 58, of Fitzgerald Avenue. He was charged with theft by finding and released on bail. He will appear at Canterbury Magistrates’ Court on May 2.

Charity quiz

HERNE BAY: Share your knowledge at a quiz night on Saturday raising cash for the Umbrella Cantre. It will be held at Christ Church Christian Centre in Underdown Road at 7pm and costs £5 per person teams of up to nine, bring your own drinks.

HERNE: The Friends of St Martin’s Church and of Strode Park Foundation present an Old Time Music Hall in the church at Herne at 7.30pm on Saturday March 29. Tickets cost £8, children £4, from Herne Post Office and at the door.
