Home ... Herne Bay ... IN BRIEF

Boot sale

The Lions Club car boot sale could be moved into the town centre on Sundays after problems were reported at the temporary home at the Memorial Park. The boot sale used to be held on the King’s Road car park, but was moved off in order to make way for a new Aldi supermarket on the site. A meeting of Herne Bay councillors suggested the boot sate could follow the Saturday market and be moved to William Street and Mortimer Street. Cllr Andrew Cook (Con) said:

“We need Herne Bay to go seven days a week, not six days a week. You walk through the town on a Sunday and it seems a bit deserted.”
