Health pop-up for the disabled

HERNE BAY: Adults with learning disabilities and their carers can attend a free health pop-up about eye care in Herne Bay on Friday, June 20. The session at Aiding Independence, 18 High Street, from 2pm to 4pm. It will be run by the Kent Association for the Blind and has been organised by the
Canterbury District Partnership Group. Monthly sessions are planned, with future topics including sexual health, nutrition, dental hygiene and services available from pharmacies. HERNE BAY: The Firkin Frog has been voted the best micropub in Kent in a reader poll. The pub in Station Road beat dozens of contenders in a vote by more than 400 Kentish drinkers. The Bouncing Barrel in Bank Street came fifth, with Whitstable’s Tankerton Arms in eighth place.
