Herne Bay literary festival will keep the children busy over…

HERNE BAY Children’s Literary Festival has one of its busiest spells of the spring this week.

The event, which finishes at the end of May, includes plenty for youngsters to do during the holidays.

On Wednesday, April 8, Bank Street bookshop A Bundle Of Books hosts Jenny Samuels and her craft workshop called Making The Queen’s Knickers. It starts at 10.30am and is suitable for children aged three and older. Tickets are £2 per child and available from A Bundle Of Books.

Thursday, April 9, there will be two Story Board Workshops held by Peter Green at A Bundle Of Books.

This first is for under-sevens and being held at 11am, while the second, for children aged eight and older, will be held at 1.30pm. Tickets are £2 per child and must be bought in advance from A Bundle of Books.

On Tuesday, April 14, Jenny Samuels is back at A Bundle of Books with a new activity called Yucky Foods. It is aimed at children aged three and over and begins at 10.30am.

Tickets are £2 per child and available from A Bundle of Books.

On Wednesday and Thursday, April 15-16, you can join Catherine Francis-Yeates at Beach Creative in Beach Street for an Illustrated Book Workshop.

Each participant will make an illustrated book based on The Rhyme Of The Ancient Mariner.

For the Wednesday session, which runs from 10am-4pm, a packed lunch will be required. The Thursday session runs from 10am-1pm.

The Illustrated Book Workshop is for children aged eight and older. Tickets cost £15 for the two sessions and must be bought or reserved through A Bundle of Books.

On Friday, April 17, Trisha Scott will be at Beach Creative, Studio 3, with two workshops.

The first is at 11am and for children aged three to eight; they will be ‘Acting the Story’.

The second session is for children aged eight and older and starts at 1.30pm. The children will be using story cards to create their own stories.

Tickets are priced at £2.50 per child and available from A Bundle Of Books.
