Following the success of Sunshine on Leith, Herne Bay Musical Theatre Society will be presenting Our House the Musical this week.

Put on your baggy trousers and head to the Bay Theatre at Herne Bay High School for this modern love story, with drama, energy and lots of laughs.

Our House is an irresistible musical bursting with non-stop classic hits from the 80s pop group, Madness.

The show follows the lives of two teenagers living in North London to the backdrop of Madness’ hit songs including It Must Be Love, House of Fun, Wings of a Dove, Baggy Trousers and, of course, Our House.

There are also two new songs written by Madness specially for the show.

Written by Tim Firth, Our House the Musical is a modern-day story of morality, or rather two stories about young Joe, his mates, his girlfriend and the night Joe commits a petty crime to impress her.

After the crime, Our House explores the two courses Joe’s life would have taken had he jumped the law and made a run for it or stayed to face the music.

Performances will run from tonight (April 8) until Saturday, April 11. They will be showing from 7.30pm, with a matinée performance on Saturday, April 11 at 2.30pm.

Tickets are £9.50 and are available from www.hbmts.ticketsource.co.uk or by calling 0333 666 3366.

The Red Sparrows – British daftness at its finest

The Red Sparrows are a bunch of firemen from Basingstoke in little planes made of bits of bicycle and cardboard who perform death-defying stunts with less than realistic props.

Like a tribute band, but much, much sillier.

Genius.
