Favrsham Townswomen’s Guild

The guild meets at the United Church Hall, at the top of Preston Street on the first Friday of the month at 2pm. Guests and new members are welcome. Contact Lynn Faulkner on 01795 590775 or e mail lynninkent@gmail.com for information. It is a non denominational group and welcomes all members of society. Anthea Bryant was the special speaker at Friday’s meeting. Anthea spoke on Hidden Canterbury. The talk was informative, fascinating and funny. In 45 minutes Anthea covered a period from Medieval to Victorian times centred around the history of our much beloved Cathedral. Birthday wishes go to Jean Hutchins, Edna Thompson, Margaret Gurr and Jo Weeks. The competition of an Easter poem was won by Angie Krieger, 2nd Ethel Crabb and 3rd Gladys Alexander.

Up coming events include Federation Day on April 10; annual Rally on Thursday July 17; the National Council Meeting In Cardiff in June. This guild’s birthday celebratory lunch at the Carriage Restaurant is on May 14 plus there is an outing in July to Margate for a Musical Hall Show. At the next meeting on May 2 the speaker is Jaqueline Aviolet who, ‘admits she is a tulip but, what are you’, so you must come along and find out what kind of flower you are!
