Detectives investigating the sexual assault of a teenager in Herne Bay have released an e-fit of a man they would like to trace.
Two teenage girls were walking down a footpath across the fields to Eddington Lane on Wednesday (February 18) at 3pm. As they turned by the Eddington Business Park to walk towards the Thanet Way, a man reportedly approached the girls from behind before attacking one of them. He then left the scene.
The suspect is described as a white man, around 5ft 9ins tall, aged between 38 and 45 years old. He wore black trainers, a dark coloured raincoat, dark tracksuit bottoms and spoke in a deep voice with a local accent. He was also described as chubby with a shaved head, blonde-grey in colour and had wrinkly hands and face.
Investigating office Detective Constable Lee Gerken said:
‘This was an unprovoked and frightening attack on a young girl but we would like to stress this is a rare incident.”
Anyone with any information about the incident should contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting ZY/4986/15.
