With Christmas fast approaching and many families making preparations for guests staying over the festive season, I would like to ask readers to consider donating unwanted items to The Children’s Trust’s charity shops.
Clearing space and tidying rooms for visitors is a great way to de-clutter and our shops would welcome donations of good quality items, including clothing, fashion accessories, kitchenware, books, games, toys, DVDs/CDs, bric-a-brac, electrical goods and furniture.
Even clothes that are too tatty to be sold should be put in a bin bag and labelled “rag” as these will also help generate income. With regard to donating furniture items, contact Donna Jarvis on 01622 685112 for an initial discussion. Our charity shop in Canterbury is at 5 St Peter’s Street. The shop is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
We would also love to hear from anyone who would like to become one of our volunteers and join our friendly team. Days and hours of working are flexible, so do pop along to your local shop and speak to the manager.
The Children’s Trust is a national charity which provides care, education and therapy for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs, and rehabilitation services to children with an acquired brain injury. For more information, visit www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk
