Charge over poppy graffiti

A 47-year-old man has been charged with daubing graffiti on two war memorials in Canterbury and Faversham during the Poppy Appeal week. Homeless Stephen Bicker is accused of scrawling “sold ya” in red paint on the memorial to the Royal East Kent Regiment in the Dane John Gardens and the same word on the memorial in Stone Street, Faversharn. He is further charged with causing criminal damage to a bridge in Ospringe Road, Faversham. He is on ball end is due before Canterbury magistrates later this month.
