Can you help secure historic Meteor return to Herne Bay?

Paver Meteor
The Gloster Meteor broke the air-speed record off Herne Bay in 1945

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Gloster Meteor, Britain’s first jet-engined aircraft, breaking the world air-speed record off the Herne Bay coast, where it clocked more than 600mph.This historic aircraft is now at the nearby RAF Manston Museum, but Jane Priston of The Amy Johnson Project has tracked down another that is airworthy and available to fly at this year’s Herne Bay airshow.

The only thing is… some £5,000 will have to be raised for this to happen.

Any businesses or individuals who might be interested in helping bring the historic Gloster Meteor to Herne Bay’s Amy Johnson Memorial Airshow on Saturday, August 15, are asked to contact the BayPromoTeam www.baypromoteam.co.uk or www.facebook.com/baypromoteam.
