A MAN has been airlifted to hospital in London after suffering a serious injury at the Manston airport site.
Ambulance crews were called to Manston at 1.50pm this afternoon (Tuesday) to respond to reports of a worker who had suffered a head injury.
An air ambulance was scrambled to attend the incident shortly afterwards.
The man had reportedly been working with machinery as part of the plane-breaking operation at the site.
He has been airlifted to Kings College Hospital for treatment. Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews and police also attended the incident.
The Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
