Book Week Costume Fun at Reculver School

At Reculver CE primary school, everyone got into the swing of International Book Day early, with youngsters taking part in their own storytelling week.
Louise Askham, Year 2 teacher, said: “Early Years children created their own story using the ‘helicopter’ storytelling technique.
“Lower-school children re-enacted the Biff, Chip and Kipper story In the Garden using giant props to make them look as if they had been shrunk.
“Squeezing five children into a giant bottle was lots of fun. They also wrote their own stories about being shrunk and what it would have been like. The lawnmower blade was a favourite one to escape from!
“Middle school children told stories with an underwater theme and upper school looked at stories told from the perspective of one of the big cats.
“The week culminated into a dressing-up day on Friday when the children shared their stories across the school and watched each others’ performances.”
