Plans for up to 40 new homes off Puffin Road in Hillborough have been recommended for approval despite protests from residents. Council officers have backed the scheme proposed by Kitewood Estates subject to the company paying contributions towards new transport infrastructure.
A plan to build 72 more homes on the site was rejected in 2003, while in 2011 a plan for 40 homes was also rejected, as both schemes were not deemed as necessary at the time. Many residents in Puffin Road object to the plans because they believe it will mean more traffic passing through their street, which is a cul-de-sac. The proposal will be go before the council’s planning committee for a decision on Tuesday night at 6.30pm.
