In late November, members of Canterbury branch enjoyed a coach trip to London. They departed from Canterbury at noon, on a crisp, sunny day, travelling to the Strand Palace Hotel for a leisurely carvery lunch. The coach then took them on a short journey across the Thames to the South Bank and, as the sun went down, they had free time to explore the Christmas market and stroll alongside the river. Lastly, at just before 5pm they boarded The London Rose for a cruise. It was lovely to see our capital city at night from the boat and the trip was even more enjoyable for being accompanied by an entertaining commentary from Craig, the boat’s owner. The coach driver was waiting at the O2 arena, and it wasn’t long before the group arrived back in Canterbury, having had a most enjoyable day. Thanks go to Tricia Shephard for making the arrangements through City and Village Tours.
