Archbishop installed as prebend

St Endellion Church
Dr Williams has visited St Endellion Church since he was an undergraduate
A former Archbishop of Canterbury is set to be installed as a prebend at a parish church.

Rowan Williams, who was the archbishop for 10 years until 2012, will join four other prebends at St Endellion Church. A prebend is a senior member of the church clergy. The post will see Dr Williams help with church activities such as the Endelienta arts festival.

Rowan Williams
Rowan Williams was the Archbishop of Canterbury for 10 years until 2012

In 2012 Dr Williams nominated the church in north Cornwall as his favourite church in the UK. He was invited to take up the role by the Bishop of Truro, the Right Reverend Tim Thornton. David Cameron’s daughter born in 2010 was named Florence Rose Endellion after the village, which is a favourite of the prime minister.
