Ambrette in running for restaurant title

CANTERBURY Ambrette restaurant is in the running to be named the best restaurant in Kent, despite only being open for a couple of months. The restaurant is part of a chain of South East Indian venues run by TV chef Dev Biswal. The chef who lives in Canterbury opened a restaurant in the city this summer, to join the other Ambrettes in Margate and Rye. Now all three restaurants have been put on the longlist for the Kent Restaurant of the Year award, sponsored by Visit Kent. The competition is open to any restaurant in the county that uses produce and products from the area.

• If you want to vote, or if your favourite Kent eatery hasn’t been nominated, you can go to the award’s website at www.tasteofkentawards.co.uk and have your say.
